Exercise like a child again

Exercise can be super fun and sometimes finding your inner child for a workout can be exhilarating. With exam season well on it’s way and stress levels rising excercise is the answer to help you destress.

So, how can you do this you may be wondering?

Try this fun workout. Pick a song for each action and have fun!

Skipping Rope

This is a great way of fitting cardio into your day. You don’t need lots of space or km’s of open road. All you need is a skipping rope and either a room with a high enough roof or an area outside (always the safer bet – nothing to knock off counters or walls).

Skipping is a full body workout and fantastic for getting your heart beating and increasing fitness.

Hula Hoop

Come on, doesn’t this just look like fun? You don’t have to dress up like a clown to feel like one. I bought my daughter a hula hoop and I was surprised to see that I have lost the skill of keeping my hula hoop going for long periods of time. Matt can even hula hoop longer than I can. Shameful.

But, for a great ab workout, pick up a hula hoop from the crazy store or a toy shop and get those hips moving until you develop a stitch.

Cartwheels & handstands

Warm up a little with some skipping and light stretching before even trying these out. We don’t want any injuries. Try doing handstands against the wall at first and then slowly try to move away. Carthweels are so much fun, even if you can’t do them as well as you would like. Remember, practice makes perfect.

Cartwheels and handstands are also full body exercises but focus mainly on building strength in your core, shoulders, and arms.

Dance like you just don’t care

Close your bedroom door, pump up your favourite song and just DANCE. There’s nothing better than making a crazy fool of yourself and getting a good workout at the same time. This will be as intense as you’ll allow it.
